Put In Perspective: Holden Astra G

First of all to clear away any confusion, this car was sold as Holden Astra where I live, so I'm calling it a Holden.

The Holden Astra G was the fourth generation of the Holden/Opel/Vauxhall Astra. It was mainly sold as a two- or four- door hatchback or as a convertible. However, several van versions (Astravan and caravan (Astra Caravan)) also were circulated.A taxi version was sold in Chile as the Chevrolet Urban. It was also the basis of the Holden/Opel/Vauxhall Zafira.

Under the bonnet was a variety of petrol engines. In size, X12XE and Z22SE were the low and high marks. Diesel engines were sold in 2.0, 2.2 and 2.4-litre form. It was available in 5-speed manual and 4 and 5-speed automatics.
